Bucharest

We made it after the taxi breakdown and a change of car and driver! View from our apartment on the Dâmbovița River.

Lunch after the journey

Stravropokeis Church dates from 1724. Seven nuns live in the monastery. The courtyard is filled with parts of other churches that were about to be demolished during the reign of the dictator Ceausecu to make the road leading up to the parliament palace. He gave people the chance to either move the church itself or save a piece. One man invented a way to move eight church's.

Manul's Inn where the Bucharest Treaty was signed in 1812 ending the war with the Russian and Ottoman empires. Now a really expensive restaurant.
