Unlikely to come from kissing turtles.... I think!! LOL. Turtle sancturies dot the coast in an effort to promote a better survival rate. They buy the eggs and raise them in captivity and let them go when they are four weeks old. Some are kept as a fund raiser for tourists to see and also as home to some injured through fishing nets etc.
