Back in Oman

We arrived home on Monday about 12.30 after our two hour drive from the airport. That night I had a meeting. The school's sponsor has offered 7 scholarship places to Omani students covering the cost of their education from now until the end of university. Tuesday was spent at school from 7.45-3.15 testing likely candidates then on til 6pm deliberating on the final seven. Great experience to be part of. Wednesday spent some time at school setting up the class and head teacher came in with new couch, new apple tv and screen! Yay! We also have a new playground underway including an amphitheatre and a place for goats ...... of course! Will take some pics next week.

We are all pleased to be home and in our own space again. One of Taya's friends is back already so there has been a sleepover. Kam still on his own but using the time to make good progress with his math and French that was set for the holidays.

I've finally broken down and bought a laptop. The iPad was too small to do anything constructive and although we are not allowed laptops at school I feel better already!

Some pics I took from my camera when we were in Holland. This was at the camping ground and the day of my birthday.

These pictures are from a parade of traditional Holland that Taya and I saw while staying with Louisa in Schagen.

Last holi-days

An end draws near to our wonderful holiday. We have amazing family in Netherlands who have made us feel so welcome and looked after us. It will be sad to leave.

Today we went to John's house (Louisa's brother). The kids had a great day as did the adults!

Schagen

We are now in Schagen, North Holland with my cousin from my Grandma's side. Louisa is really mum's cousin but we are the same age. Her daughter Sanne is 13. We had a great day out yesterday taking the boat to Texel, an island where we visited a seal sanctuary, museum and aquarium. Then home for togs and swimming in the North Sea. Probably couldn't call it swimming, more like standing knee deep in water until a wave came and knocked you off your feet! Kam loved it. Taya got dumped within five minutes and that was it for her - too scary!

Louisa's brother and his family joined us for the day. Left to right, back to front:

Dolfinarium

Well we now know Kameron has no sense of direction after relying on his co-piloting skills using the phone to get us there! And there's one picture especially for my former work colleagues in regards to staff meetings!!

My Birthday

Lovely day with Dutch rellies at the camping ground where mum's Aunty and Uncle spend most of their summer.
