Budapest!

Train took six and half hours but much more relaxing than the bus we took yesterday from Bihac to Zagreb!!

Traveling from Sarajevo to Una National Park

We drove from Sarajevo to Dado's hometown (where we checked out ruins and local food!) then on to Una National Park where we stayed with a local family and ate local pita (pie). Best night's sleep yet back out in the country with no noise! Kids and Dado swam from Bosnia to Croatia and back! Then we found out from our hosts it was not allowed - oopsie!

Sarajevo, Bosnia

Great couple of days exploring Sarajevo and learning the history of the war. What a terrible, terrible thing. Scars are still very obvious. The country and its people terribly poor but so nice - a very cheap place to travel. Our guide Dado shared so much information I simply can't keep track of who did what when.

First pics are of the old bob sled track used in the 1984 Winter Olympics. What a waste. Bullet holes included!

Kameron in snipers nest.

View of the city from where Serbian troops were stationed. They had surrounded the whole city making it impossible for people for come and go, even for water.

Windy Caves/Monastery

Windy Caves - the windometer has measured the wind coming out of these caves at 140km/hour. They say it's the hot air meeting the cold air. It's freezing for the first 150m then no wind.

Francescan Monastery - kids with Dado, our guide

Inside the monastery - has been repainted.

Hercegovnia

We are now traveling through Hercegovnia with a guide. His name is Dado, 28 and has such a lot of knowledge. He's great with the kids stopping for swims etc and adapting things so they are not too bored.

Mostar Old Bridge rebuilt by UNESCO and six other European countries after the war as the government has no money.
